The Washington DC employment and labor law firm of Alden Law Group, PLLC (“ALG”) seeks a mid-level to senior-level associate attorney with 4-8 years of post-law school experience . Applicants must be licensed in DC or eligible to waive in without taking an exam.

ALG represents primarily employees and unions in litigation under federal and state laws. ALG’s practice focuses on employment law issues in a wide range of areas, including employment discrimination (e.g., D.C. Human Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Equal Pay Act), labor rights, whistleblowing, civil service rights (e.g., MSPB), workplace investigations, and employment and severance agreements. Responsibilities
The attorney will work primarily representing employees, in employment matters, including discrimination and whistleblowing cases in court and in administrative agencies such as the EEOC, MSPB, and OSC. The attorney may also be involved in handling cases involving employee discipline, investigations, and demand letters. Our associates are involved in all aspects and stages of cases, from developing claims, interviewing clients, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and conducting depositions, negotiations and mediations, court appearances, and trials/hearings. Duties include extensive client contact, oral advocacy, and legal research and writing in a wide range of areas. Associates also receive substantive feedback and mentoring on assignments.
Qualifications
The position requires excellent writing and analytical skills, strong research abilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated interest in labor, employment, civil rights, or similar focus. Relevant experience includes litigation experience before administrative agencies, court and/or, arbitrators, involvement with a labor organization, and/or other legal work in the employment and labor-law field.
Candidates must be admitted to or eligible for admission to the DC Bar . Virginia and/or Maryland Bar admission is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected associate attorney position salary range for candidates with 4-8 years of relevant experience is $90,000 to $135,000 plus discretionary bonuses.
