Job Description

The Well Appointed House is looking for a strategic, self-directed, and customer-obsessed Marketing & Partnerships Manager to lead a unified vision for marketing campaigns, promotions, and customer experience initiatives across The Well Appointed House’s marketing channels, native website, and direct mail. This role ensures The Well Appointed House delivers customers with a frictionless and happy experience throughout the conversion funnel while engaging them with relevant and inspiring content. This role is one of art and science, requiring proficiency in data analytics, commercial business drivers, and technical operations, as well as creative content based on home, lifestyle, and fashion trends. The Manager of Marketing & Partnerships develops strategies for personalization and segmentation; drives automation; and works with cross functional partners on business-wide initiatives including vision setting for CX enhancements, new feature experiments, customer studies, business deep-dives, and new category launches.

The Marketing Manager will be at the forefront of shaping the brand’s online presence, including strategy, the content of online product management, and new partnerships, while liaising with our team across key areas of CRM, site operations and merchandising, affiliate marketing, customer acquisition, paid search, and SEO.

A successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with a lean team working in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires an individual with an understanding of e-commerce and strong proficiency with the Shopify platform from a consumer marketing and technical standpoint and who works well across functional boundaries. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically, with a passion for the customer experience and innovation. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of home and lifestyle customer behavior and experience developing engaging content marketing strategies to support product investment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drives a strategic vision for the e-commerce team that supports key business investments
  • Responsible for generating all creative content for online marketing, advertising, social media, blog/editorial
  • Responsible for curation of photography for the website and for assisting with images/copy/content for website
  • Responsible for site and print merchandising and assisting the Founder with product mix, collaborations, licensing and private label
  • In charge of affiliate program, influencer collaborations and press outreach
  • Assist founder with new business outreach and vendor account onboarding in tandem with our Director of Operations.
  • Keeper of the brand style consistency across all mediums

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of work experience in a relevant e-commerce marketing role
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required
  • Superb organizational skills, including multi-tasking and prioritization
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data and metrics to identify opportunities and drive improvements
  • Comfortable with being a self-starter and creating processes to drive progress on a small team
  • Knowledge and comfort with updating content pages and product listings on Shopify e-commerce site
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills, PowerPoint/Keynote/Google Slides, expertise in Canva, Photoshop, Adobe programs, expertise in Klaviyo in creating emails, Illustrator, InDesign, photo editing, and a good eye for social media creation (Instagram/Facebook stories, grid posts, Pinterest presence, YouTube, TikTok, etc)
  • An eye for P&L management and ability to help the leadership team ensure profitable growth across all digital channels by meeting financial objectives and optimizing for ROI.
  • Lead the strategy and execution for the brand’s online presence, aligning with broader brand objectives and market dynamics.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize online sales performance, traffic, and conversion rates.
  • Understanding of selling an extensive catalog (40K+ SKUs) within a broad home and lifestyle category, expertise in digital marketing, acquisition and retention strategies, and user journey mapping.
  • Experience with direct mail and print catalogs is a plus
  • Lead mobile-first initiatives, ensuring an optimized experience tailored to how customers engage across devices.
  • Create and implement promotional calendars and digital campaigns that drive brand engagement and maximize sales.
  • Monitor and manage product assortments to meet consumer demand and align with marketing promotions.
  • Manage production of compelling digital content, from product visuals to promotional assets.
  • Ensure all creative output is on-brand, optimized for eCommerce, and tailored to specific retail platforms.
  • Lead and liaise across various disciplines focused on website performance marketing, site operations, merchandising, SEO, and reporting.
  • Provide insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to online sales, traffic, conversion rates, and customer engagement.
  • Regularly report on performance to the Founder, highlighting challenges, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new digital marketing tactics to ensure the brand’s eCommerce presence remains competitive.
  • Strong digital acumen and ability to adapt to new technologies and AI
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
