Insight Global is partnering with a Charter School to hire for ESL Teachers for adult students in the Sacramento, CA area.

This is a hybrid opportunity, working in the school for 2 days a week, and working remotely 3 days a week.

Under the direction of the Principal, Teachers create lesson plans to teach non-native speakers to read, write, speak and understand English. They help students learn English grammar, pronunciation, and conversational skills.

Responsibilities

• Instruct adult English Learners in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English
• Instruct adult English Learners in basic math, science, and history
• Potentially instruct English Learners in American Government and civics, depending upon credential
• Instruct adult English Learners in basic career and/or parenting skills
• Adapt training methods to the needs of adult learners with diverse cultural backgrounds and varying intellectual abilities and attitudes
• Advise students on academic and life issues
• Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
• Conduct formal and informal formative assessments, and summative assessments of student learning
• Conduct and/or support the standardized testing of students

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Worked or volunteered in an education-related field (e.g., tutor, substitute)
• Possess or qualify for an Adult Education Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills teaching credential, or a Multiple Subject credential, or any Single Subject credential
• The ability to communicate with a diverse group of people on a daily basis

Compensation will be based off years of experience, teaching credentials and education background
