Freight Forwarding & Customs Coordinator

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site

A well-established international logistics provider is hiring a Freight Forwarding and Customs Coordinator to support growing volumes in the Oklahoma City market. This role requires experience in air and ocean operations with a focus on accurate documentation, shipment coordination, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have direct experience in U.S. import/export processes and the ability to manage both carrier coordination and customs brokerage workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate international freight shipments across air and ocean modes from origin to final delivery
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates
• Communicate with carriers, brokers, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight
• Support customs clearance activities by reviewing HTS classifications, coordinating ISF filings, and preparing entry packages
• Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve issues related to holds, delays, or documentation errors
• Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs and international shipping regulations
• Update shipment statuses in the transportation management system and provide real-time communication to customers
• Ensure full documentation accuracy and file integrity for internal audits and customs reviews

Required Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in international freight forwarding or customs brokerage
• Operational knowledge of both air and ocean import/export logistics
• Familiarity with customs clearance procedures including ISF, HTS, entry filing, and bonded cargo handling
• Proficiency with logistics platforms such as CargoWise, Descartes, or similar TMS/entry systems
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple shipments across trade lanes

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade documentation
• Experience coordinating with CBP and PGAs (FDA, USDA, etc.)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
