FWS or Student Assistant - Outreach and Education Assistant

Job Description:

The Florida Museum of Natural History is seeking a part-time Federal Work Study (FWS) or other student assistant to assist the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity with outreach and education of butterflies and moths.  

The successful candidate will assist with tasks associated with outreach and education of butterflies and moths, including helping draft articles on events and activities related to the McGuire Center. The McGuire Center is a leading institution of butterflies and moths nationally and globally.

The selected student(s) will gain valuable experience in the field of butterfly and moth education and outreach. Prior experience is not required, and all necessary training and supervision will be provided. Applicants that apply for FWS must be FWS qualified.

This position is part time at 15-20 hours per week.

Expected Salary:

$16/hr

Minimum Requirements:

• Outreach and education assistants should have strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, experience working within teams, and a commitment to the success of this program.
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
