Safety 1st Pro Services, LLC is a trusted provider of safety management and construction services for high-risk infrastructure projects including  dam construction, rehabilitation, and water control structures . We are seeking a qualified  Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)to oversee safety operations on upcoming  dam construction projects , ensuring compliance with all  federal, state, and USACE safety standards .

Contract Job - 6 Months.

The  SSHO / Safety Manager will be responsible for enforcing the project-specific safety and health program on-site. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in  dam, levee, flood control, or heavy civil infrastructure work and meet all SSHO compliance requirements.

• Implement and manage the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and document all findings.
• Enforce all  OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and contract-specific safety requirements .
• Lead daily toolbox talks and conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs).
• Maintain all safety logs, records, and training documentation on-site.
• Serve as the primary safety liaison with USACE representatives and contractors.
• Monitor heavy equipment, excavation, fall protection, and confined space activities.
• Investigate safety incidents and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

As per  Section 01 35 29.10 28, Paragraph 1.6.1.1 , candidates must meet all the following:

• Minimum 5 years of full-time safety work on similar heavy civil projects (e.g., dams, levees, flood control structures).
• Completed  OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training within the past 5 years.
• Documented 8+ hours of formal, online, or self-study safety/health training annually for each of the past 5 years.
• Strong working knowledge of  USACE EM 385-1-1safety requirements.

• Experience working on  USACE or NAVFAC dam projects .
• Current certifications in  CPR/First Aid ,  Fall Protection ,  Confined Space , or  Rigging Safety .
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
