Job Description

Hospitality Confidential is pleased to present a Hotel Manager opportunity at a waterfront destination on Chesapeake Bay, offering a mix of relaxation, dining, and entertainment options. Located in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, it features amenities like a fitness center, seasonal outdoor pool, indoor pool, and on-site game room, which make it a versatile choice for leisure and business guests.

The Hotel Manager directly supervises managers within the hotel departments, to include front desk, and housekeeping. You will indirectly supervise all hotel personnel and carry out supervisory responsibilities and training programs. The Hotel Manager will not have any F&B responsibility. The hotel has 69 guest rooms, two conference rooms and an on-site salon and barbershop. In June 2025, an additional 61 guest rooms will open at the property.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

  • Responsible for hiring, training and proficiency of employees for all hotel departments.
  • Provide positive and professional leadership
  • Proven results in achieving hotel sales and occupancy levels
  • Generate new and repeat business through planned sales and marketing activity with active participation in the local community
  • Drive rate and occupancy through Yield Management strategy
  • Develops accurate and aggressive long and short-range financial objectives
  • Prepares financial reports that clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends and variances.
  • Maintain property through planned preventive maintenance program
  • Maximize profit through control of costs while maintaining company standards
  • Train and develop hotel staff
  • Hold staff accountable with uniform and appearance standards to maintain a professional look at the hotel, to include all outlets inside the hotel. Front Desk and Housekeeping.
  • Creates an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction
  • Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Initiates corrective action.
  • Understands the government and State regulations affecting hotel operations, ensuring hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal county

Job Requirements

  • Strong community involvement preferred
  • Supportive, hands-on management style
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Products
  • Familiarity with Stayntouch preferred
  • Ability to budget and understand P&L statements and STAR reports
