About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Junior Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of production machinery and facility equipment in our food manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of mechanical systems, a willingness to learn, and a strong commitment to safety and quality in a food-grade environment.

The Junior Mechanic will assist in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment including conveyors, motors, pumps, mixers, and packaging machines.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Support senior mechanics and technicians in mechanical and minor electrical repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation according to company and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the maintenance area.
• Follow company safety policies and report any potential hazards or incidents promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanical or industrial maintenance is a plus.
• 1–2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment; experience with Refrigeration systems is a plus.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
• Speaking Spanish is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to food production environments, including noise, humidity, and moving machinery.
• Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
