Job Description

The purpose of this position is to assist and support NEP Broadcast Services in the mechanical design of broadcast and production systems at NEP’s Systems Integration facility.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design and development of new or existing systems/facilities with specialization in television mobile unit trailers, Fly Pack and Studio systems. This Includes digitizing physical objects and assemblies from existing drawings, publishing documents from relevant CAD drawings, and preparing modifications of designs.
  • Read, evaluate, and interpret designs and drawings.
  • Digitize physical objects and generate assemblies from existing drawings.
  • Assist in producing drawing packages from various disciplines including; structural, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, interior and console design, as well as architectural materials and finishes.
  • Provide technical information and documentation to all parties involved in the project(s).
  • Assist in Development of 2D and 3D drawing packages and instructions as required.
  • Work with the design team, mechanical and technical supervisors and project coordinators to develop and verify designs, order materials needed, and ensure inventory is available to implement the design.
  • Work closely with the System design and Engineering teams to implement designs and assist with continuous improvement, design validation, and component organization.
  • Visit project sites/shop floor to R&D designs, assess progress and assist with troubleshooting, testing, implementation and design improvement as necessary.

Position Requirements

  • Completion of Associates or Technical Degree is preferred from an accredited Design, Technology, or Engineering School.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor required.
  • Strong Mac/PC skills (Microsoft Office operating systems) and proficient knowledge of networking.
  • Ability to work on tasks and projects independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Limited travel may be required based on project plans.
