Junior Naval Architect 🚢

Are you a recent Naval Architecture graduate or early-career professional looking to make your mark on the maritime industry? Do you thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same? We're a small, dynamic firm seeking a Junior Naval Architect to join our team in Lithia, FL . You'll get hands-on experience with diverse projects, from luxurious yachts to rugged tugs, helping to design the vessels of tomorrow.

What You'll Do

• Design and create engineering drawings for a wide range of new construction and refit projects.
• Contribute to all phases of a project , including creating work scopes and schedules, communicating with clients, and coordinating with technical vendors.
• Work within a small team of naval architects, marine engineers, and designers to solve complex engineering challenges .
• Manage the class and regulatory submittal, review, and approval process with governing bodies like the USCG.
• Conduct fieldwork and travel as needed, working safely aboard vessels and in shipyard environments.

What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Rhino is a must.
• Working knowledge of shipbuilding rules and regulations , as well as classification society and Coast Guard requirements .
• Familiarity with propulsion and steering design .
• Knowledge of stability software like AutoHydro or GHS .
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and hold a valid driver's license, US passport, and a TWIC card (or the ability to obtain one).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in the maritime industry.
• Understanding of marine structural engineering.
• Experience with class and USCG submittals.
• Familiarity with machinery and systems on commercial and recreational vessels.
• Experience with ShipConstructor software .

Job Details: This is a full-time, on-site position with a typical schedule of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We offer a competitive benefits package, including a 50% health benefits contribution.
