JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary:
We are seeking an entry-level Lab Technician to support testing activities in a quality laboratory environment. The role involves performing analytical testing on raw materials, in-process and finished products, and plant utilities. The chemist will help ensure product release readiness for further manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct raw material, in-process, and final product analysis (e.g., titrations, vitamin/protein/mineral analysis, solids content, and pH testing)
• Perform fatty acid, choline, and lactose profiling using Gas Chromatography
• Execute physical and chemical tests: viscosity, color, sensory evaluation, etc.
• Make batch calculations and adjustments, with appropriate documentation
• Support special testing and validation protocols, including investigations
• Maintain lab safety protocols, equipment, and supply inventory
• Train new chemists in lab methods, procedures, and documentation
• Conduct control sample testing, CIP residual testing, water and gas testing
• Complete routine standardizations and equipment maintenance
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; college-level math and science coursework required
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science field preferred
• Strong understanding of basic chemistry, lab procedures, and documentation
• Comfortable with lab equipment, computer skills, and basic data analysis
• Able to lift and push up to 25 lbs as part of regular lab work
• Effective communication and adaptability in a collaborative lab setting
