About the Role: The maintenance supervisor will ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, such as food safety standards and CAL OSHA safety regulations. The Maintenance supervisor will be responsible for continuous improvement efforts, preventative maintenance, and day-to-day mechanical needs to continue operations accordingly. The Maintenance supervisor will be overseeing the mechanics and the maintenance coordinator, along with their responsibilities and disciplinary actions as required. The supervisor will be a figurehead in all maintenance-related projects to ensure compliance with department expectations.

Pay range and compensation package: $90,000 - 100,000 per year

Status: Salaried Exempt, Full-time

Days of the Week Needed: Primarily Monday – Friday, weekends, and holidays as needed

Shifts: 2:00 PM- 10:30 PM

Work Hours: 8 hours minimum, mandatory overtime when business needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Safety, Allergen Controls, Food Safety and sanitation, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures relating to job duties.
  • Oversight of the facilities' supporting equipment and their functionality. Such equipment will include, but is not limited to, Train chillers, wastewater equipment, HVAC equipment, electrical supporting equipment, etc.
  • Ensure all plant equipment is operational and in compliance with OSHA regulations. This entitles mixing equipment, packaging machines, transfer pumps, and valves at a minimum.
  • Collaborate with site leadership on any customer complaint that may require mechanical insight.
  • Maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders and assigning them accordingly to mechanics, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant processing and supporting equipment.
  • Responsible for the sustainment and improvement of the Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Ensures that all maintenance training and development program is sustained and updated accordingly.
  • Track, analyze, and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, unplanned mechanical downtime, etc.
  • Follow up on shop cleanup activities daily, maintain and repair maintenance shop equipment, and ensure that the spare part inventory is maintained.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of related experience in food manufacturing.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Technical certifications are preferred.
  • Knowledge and application experience in general safety requirements, mechanical safety, and food safety standards.
  • HACCP Certification is preferred.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees across departments and build consensus around key initiatives.
  • Ability to work day or evening shifts and weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and positive work environment.

Physical demands and abilities:

  • Ability to maintain a safe and positive work environment.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Ability able to bend, twist, stoop, squat, and pivot.
  • Ability to walk and stand for 8+ hour shifts.
