Compensation & Benefits Specialist (Total Rewards)

LHH looking for a dynamic Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join a dynamic growing company and their People Operations team and help drive their Total Rewards programs forward.

Compensation Strategy & Analysis

  • Provide analytical support to HR leadership through research, reporting, metric tracking, and actionable recommendations.
  • Perform compensation analysis and recommend salary adjustments to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Partner with People Ops to deliver timely and accurate compensation program elements.
  • Conduct job analysis to determine appropriate job leveling and alignment with company policies.
  • Lead and support Total Rewards initiatives as we scale our people operations.
  • Independently manage complex and confidential projects from start to finish.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for compensation programs and policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in partnership with People Ops.
  • Ensure compensation programs comply with legal requirements and internal standards through regular audits.
  • Provide ad hoc compensation analytics to stakeholders.
  • Submit and manage participation in market surveys, ensuring accurate job matching and market analysis.
  • Support compliance-related efforts including ACA reporting, 401(k) audits, nondiscrimination testing, and more.

Benefits Administration & Strategy

  • Partner with HR leadership on benefits strategy development and execution.
  • Manage and communicate retirement plan details, including 401(k) administration and ERISA compliance.
  • Oversee reconciliation and billing of health and welfare benefits to maintain accuracy and cost control.
  • Manage the annual TIP Program, from eligibility to record-keeping.
  • Support the delivery and administration of benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSAs, COBRA, and more.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure program compliance with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with management to improve benefit offerings and streamline processes.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure service standards are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain a general understanding of all insurance offerings and HR policies.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in compensation and benefits—ideally within a high-growth, agile organization.
  • Strong background in market analysis and compensation benchmarking.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proactive, self-starter attitude.
  • Experience navigating complex, matrixed environments.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and reporting tools.

Bonus but not required

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or in progress.
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or in progress.
