UT Level 3 Engineer

Lead the Advancement of Ultrasonic Inspection for Aerospace Components!

Matec Instrument Companies (SSTS) is a leading provider of high-precision testing services for the aerospace industry, ensuring the integrity and reliability of critical steel and other component materials. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Non-Destructive Testing Ultrasonic Level III to join our expert team.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for applying and developing advanced ultrasonic inspection methods and techniques to evaluate a diverse range of aerospace parts. Your expertise in creating and validating sophisticated scan programs, ensuring system capability, and providing technical leadership will be instrumental in upholding our commitment to uncompromising quality and safety.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

• Apply advanced Ultrasonic inspection methods and techniques, including phased array and other specialized UT methods, to inspect a wide variety of complex aerospace part types.
• Take ownership of the creation and validation of detailed part scan programs in strict accordance with specified procedures and industry standards.
• Rigorously validate inspection system operation and capability , ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and reliability of test results.
• Oversee and perform maintenance of ultrasonic inspection systems and supporting equipment, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal performance.
• Expertly inspect and evaluate aerospace parts according to existing and newly developed inspection techniques, providing clear and accurate assessments.
• Provide strong technical guidance, instruction, and supervision to NDT technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a key technical resource and provide direct support to customers, addressing inquiries and ensuring their testing needs are met effectively.

What You Need to Apply:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or equivalent technical background.
• Proven leadership experience with a track record of guiding and mentoring technical teams.
• Current Ultrasonic Level III Certification (UT Level III) or equivalent certification recognized within the aerospace NDT industry.
• Significant experience in the development and implementation of advanced ultrasonic techniques , including but not limited to phased array, TOFD, and other specialized methods.
• Minimum of 5 years of extensive hands-on experience in immersion ultrasonic inspection of rotating turbine engine components or equivalent critical aerospace parts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a thorough understanding of ultrasonic equipment operation, maintenance, and fixturing.
• Highly dependable and committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in all testing activities.
