We are actively seeking an enthusiastic scientist interested in playing a pivotal role in our newly formed AI arm (Pledge-AI), a startup under the Pledge Biosciences umbrella, developing cutting-edge generative AI applications for drug discovery. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in computational drug design as well as the development of AI/ML models. This position will also include compound database management for internal programs, guided small molecule drug design, and CRO management. The successful candidate will be embedded in the Pledge-AI group, working closely with the Lead AI Developer to improve our internal models and develop the next generation of our technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize and improve the proprietary generative chemistry models for hit generation.
• Build and deploy machine learning models for lead optimization.
• Integrate AI models with state-of-the-art computational chemistry pipelines to harness physics-based calculations and experimental insights to augment the discovery cascade.
• Leverage open-sourced and proprietary data sets for small molecule design and optimization.
• Collaborate with other machine learning specialists, protein engineers, structural biologists, computational chemists, biophysicists, and biologists to incorporate the nuances of drug discovery into in-silico methods.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record in developing machine-learning methods to solve problems related to structure-based drug discovery.
• Exposure to contemporary ML architectures (Diffusion, GCN, CNN, Transformers) and methods (Supervised Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning).
• Expertise in computational chemistry, computational biology, bioinformatics, and high-performance computing.
• Proficiency in Python, experience in machine learning frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.
• Experience in chemoinformatics and molecular docking software platforms, molecular dynamics packages and enhanced sampling techniques.
• High-fidelity problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
