Gain exposure to cutting-edge equipment, analytical methods, and collaborative global initiatives while making a tangible impact on natural flavor production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance the technical capabilities of the Citrus Center.
  • Support global flavor and fragrance R&D teams by evaluating raw materials and advising on equipment and process design.

  • Lead technical transfer efforts from lab to commercial scale, ensuring product viability and scalability.
  • Serve as a technical liaison to ensure research protocols align with manufacturing processes.
  • Travel occasionally (up to 5%) to support global affiliates and engage with clients and suppliers.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes across global facilities, including Fit for Manufacturing reviews and process troubleshooting.
  • Lead or support the full lifecycle of new equipment implementation—from design through commissioning and training.
  • Provide hands-on support to maintenance, production, and QA/QC teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Uphold safety standards by ensuring safe process design, compliance with safety protocols, and participation in safety assessments.
  • Manage analytical instrumentation to support raw material, intermediate, and finished product evaluations.
  • Coordinate method transfers and ensure analytical alignment with global sites.
  • Oversee daily operations at the Florida-based facility, including quality control for citrus production.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments, review analytical data, and handle sample and product shipments.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support daily operations and continuous improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Food Science required.
  • 5–10 years of experience in citrus flavor manufacturing, process development, or laboratory environments.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and process schematics to support scale-up and commercialization.
  • Hands-on experience with gas and liquid chromatography instrumentation.
  • Training in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies strongly preferred; PSM knowledge a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a passion for innovation and commercialization.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle equipment and materials in varied environments.
  • Willingness to work in diverse conditions including manufacturing floors, labs, and temperature-variable spaces.
