Job Description

Senior Product Designer

About us

Shoplift, an NYC-based SaaS startup, empowers thousands of e-commerce merchants like Kith, Liquid Death, Olukai, and more, to acquire customers efficiently and profitably by optimizing their online storefronts with our intelligent, automated experimentation and personalization platform.

Design plays an essential role in shaping the future of Shoplift. You’ll be joining a cross-functional team who are passionate about collaboration, innovation, and always put the user at the center of every decision. As a key contributor on an early design team, this role is both challenging and rewarding, offering a high degree of freedom and responsibility. It involves working across the entire design process—from user research and ideation to crafting polished, high-fidelity interfaces—and owning entire features or product areas from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who is a designer in every sense of the word; someone who is deeply passionate about design, has strong foundations in user experience principles and systems thinking, and excels at creating features that delight users.

The role

  • Own features and product areas from start to finish. You’ll identify problems and needs, advocate, research, and craft elegant solutions while collaborating with key stakeholders. You’re the owner of your craft, from ideation to handoff.
  • Distill complex technical requirements into intuitive user experiences that require thoughtful information architecture and interaction design solutions.
  • Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your team to understand the opportunity, and then chart a path forward by refining, prioritizing, and scoping solutions - while maintaining an eye for what is essential versus nice-to-have.
  • Contribute to product-level decision-making by setting and participating and calling in team meetings, cross-functional groups, and collaborative feedback sessions.
  • Influence your team's approach to product development, shaping the team's culture, processes, and practices.

You are:

  • An experienced senior designer with 5+ years as an in-house UI/UX/Product Designer working on complex, enterprise or B2B SaaS products with polished portfolio showcasing your ability to maintain a high bar for craft at scale.
  • Highly proficient in Figma and organizing and annotating components and features, including creating prototypes and working with a component library.
  • Comfortable leading design for large projects and driving understanding from cross-team colleagues.
  • You love solving challenging design problems and passionate about creating intuitive and delightful solutions.
  • You’re a curious individual that is not a afraid of asking questions or finding the answers on your own.
  • You’re comfortable working in a high-pace and ever-changing environment.
  • You're a curious and resourceful designer who quickly ramps up in new domains, deeply understands user needs, and delivers impactful solutions.
  • You don’t shy away from the technical aspects of product development, collaborating closely with engineers and PMs to ensure your designs are feasible, scalable, and efficient.
  • Your problem-solving approach is grounded in context, creativity, and an open mind, enabling you to tackle challenges thoughtfully.
  • You pride yourself on attention to detail, ensuring every pixel and interaction contributes to a cohesive, polished experience.
  • You’re deadline-oriented and efficient, possess strong time management skills, and are proactive in communicating and documenting project progress, status, and workload
  • You use a first principles approach and aren’t afraid to try new things to create the future.

Strongly preferred

  • Experience designing data-heavy applications in the marketing-technology industry
  • Experience designing highly visual applications supported by user content and assets
  • You love startups and are excited about shaping the design culture at a fast-growing company.
  • Experience with the Shopify ecosystem and/or Shopify app ecosystem

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation
  • Flexible remote work policy
  • Generous time off policy to balance your work and life, including paid parental leave

Please note: Applications without portfolio submitted through this link won't be considered
