Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake & Power BI Developer to support data initiatives within the capital markets division of a leading financial services firm. This role requires someone who can interface directly with business partners (including traders) and operate independently to drive solutions from inception to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize Snowflake-based data pipelines and models for large-scale financial datasets
• Develop interactive and insightful dashboards using Power BI to support trading and risk functions
• Work directly with traders and other business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide data insights, and deliver reports
• Ensure data quality, performance tuning, and scalability of solutions
• Act as a self-starter and take ownership of initiatives with minimal supervision
• Translate complex business needs into technical specifications and actionable data solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business SMEs

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake – including data modeling, SQL performance optimization, and security features
• Solid experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports with complex calculations and data visualizations
• Excellent communication skills – must be comfortable working directly with business users (especially traders)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with banking, capital markets, or trading systems is highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of financial products such as equities, derivatives, or fixed income
• Experience integrating Snowflake with other tools/platforms (e.g., Python, Azure, AWS, etc.)
• Understanding of regulatory reporting or risk data frameworks in financial institutions
