Shipping/Receiving Manager

Responsibilities:

As the Shipping & Receiving Manager , you will lead a team of 10 associates in the day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving department. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, maintaining inventory integrity, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Team Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of 10 warehouse associates to meet shipping deadlines and accuracy goals.
  • Conduct daily team huddles and coordinate staffing to align with production and shipping schedules.
  • Provide on-the-job training, enforce safety protocols, and support performance improvement initiatives.

Shipping & Receiving Execution

  • Oversee and participate in the accurate picking, packing, staging, and loading of orders including LTL, ground, and truckload shipments.
  • Ensure all outbound shipments are processed efficiently and meet customer and carrier specifications.
  • Manage incoming inventory by receiving, inspecting, and documenting raw materials and finished goods.

Inventory Control & Process Improvement

  • Maintain organized and accurate inventory through cycle counts, proper labeling, and storage practices.
  • Monitor and implement continuous improvements to reduce errors, enhance workflows, and support lean practices.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met and perform final checks prior to shipments.

Facility Safety & Cleanliness

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with production, logistics, and customer service teams to resolve shipment or inventory discrepancies.
  • Support company initiatives and be open to taking on special projects or duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in shipping, receiving, and/or warehouse operations (prior leadership experience preferred).
  • Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical labor as needed.
  • Forklift certified or ability to become certified; proficient in operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Experience using handheld barcode scanners for staging and inventory tracking.
