Title: Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Work Arrangement: Remote (will work in EST or CST time zone)

Overview:

The IT Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will lead the technical architecture and development of the Public Cloud platform. They should be able to work independently as well as part of a larger global team, providing support for server infrastructure with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure that supports a growing portfolio of products and services. The engineer will also be responsible for mentoring and developing junior-level resources.

Responsibilities:

• Independently install, configure, upgrade, and maintain various operating systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Server and Linux.
• Architect and deploy various cloud services, including virtual machines, databases, and infrastructure as code into public cloud environments.
• Work directly with disaster recovery (DR) coordinators to review and enhance existing DR procedures and actively participate in DR operations/testing.
• Discover, document, decompose, research, and solve complex problems at scale.
• Work independently and as part of a multicultural team on high-visibility projects.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews of audit and compliance controls related to cloud infrastructure, remediating issues as needed.
• Mentor and train DevOps & Cloud teams in IaC best practices, leveraging CI/CD toolsets to improve and automate day-to-day processes.
• Maintain regular contact with internal teams and external vendors regarding support issues and technology updates.

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience troubleshooting and providing solutions across various platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Experience with cloud provisioning and configuration management using CloudFormation/Terraform.
• Strong practical Linux and Windows-based system administration skills in a cloud or virtualized environment.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Experience leading infrastructure and/or system administration projects.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7 - 10 years of relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, including building/deploying pipelines and IaC automation.
• Experience in a large global corporate environment preferred.

Compensation: Salary range: $120,000 - $130,000, subject to factors such as role scope, experience, skills, and market conditions.
