We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join Elite Parking Solutions as a Traffic Director at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. This position is specifically designed for weekends during the festival season and will primarily involve managing and directing vehicular traffic to ensure smooth and safe movement in and around the festival grounds. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the overall experience of our guests by ensuring seamless traffic flow and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
1.Traffic Management: Directing and controlling vehicular traffic flow at designated areas to prevent congestion and ensure safe navigation for festival-goers and visitors.
2. Parking Guidance: Assisting visitors with parking their vehicles in designated areas while maximizing space efficiency and maintaining order.
3. Safety Compliance: Ensuring all traffic control and safety protocols are followed, including speed limits, designated parking zones, and pedestrian walkways.
4. Customer Service: Providing friendly and helpful assistance to guests, answering their questions about parking locations, festival attractions, and general information to enhance their overall experience.
5. Problem Resolution: Handling traffic-related issues and addressing any disputes or concerns that may arise courteously and professionally.
6. Team Collaboration: Coordinating with other traffic directors and festival staff to synchronize traffic management strategies and effectively respond to changing traffic conditions.
7. Signage and Communication: Installing and maintaining clear and visible signage to guide visitors to designated parking areas and festival entry points.
8. Traffic Reports: Preparing and submitting traffic-related reports as required by Elite Parking Solutions and festival management.
9. Emergency Response: Being vigilant and prepared to respond to emergencies, directing emergency vehicles, and ensuring emergency access points are unobstructed.
Requirements:
1. Availability: This position requires availability to work on weekends during the duration of the Michigan Renaissance Festival. The festival typically runs for several weekends from August 19 to October 1, including Monday, September 4 (Labor Day), and Friday, September 29.
2. Physical Fitness: The job involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasionally lifting light objects. Candidates should be physically fit to handle the demands of the position.
3. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills are essential to interact with visitors and address their inquiries and concerns effectively.
4. Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations is crucial for managing traffic effectively.
5. Customer-Focused Attitude: A friendly and customer-oriented approach is essential to provide exceptional service to festival attendees.
6. Reliability and Punctuality: Being punctual and dependable is vital to ensure smooth traffic management during festival hours.
7. Team Player: The candidate should work collaboratively with other staff members to create a positive and efficient work environment.
8. Previous Experience: While prior experience in traffic management is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
Pay: The hourly rate for this position will be $18-$26/hour, depending on availability and performance.
