Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Data Center Assistant to support inventory and logistics operations in a high-performance data center environment . The ideal candidate will have experience working in warehouses or logistics, preferably within IT or technology-focused settings, and will play a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring smooth equipment handling, and supporting infrastructure teams with timely hardware delivery and tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, unpack, label, and store incoming IT hardware and equipment (e.g., servers, switches, routers, cables).
• Organize and maintain inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) or internal databases.
• Track and document all equipment movements, including deliveries to and from data center racks or cages.
• Assist with the deployment and decommissioning of data center hardware, as directed by technical teams.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Coordinate with logistics providers and vendors for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Prepare assets for return, recycling, or disposal according to company policy.
• Follow data center protocols for equipment handling, access, and security.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training a plus.
• 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or inventory experience, ideally in a technology environment.
• Familiarity with basic IT hardware (e.g., servers, network equipment).
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience using barcode scanners and inventory tracking software.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, inventory management tools).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a data center or tech hardware warehouse.
• Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety practices.
• Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks.
• Familiarity with IT asset management (ITAM) practices.

Work Environment:

• Work will be performed primarily in a secure warehouse within a data center facility.
• May require extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
• Occasional work inside cold/hot aisles in data center areas.
