Our client is a leading mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for high-profile projects, including data centers , large commercial , and industrial facilities . We’re growing rapidly and looking for an experienced Construction Project Engineer to join our team. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage Mechanical Projects : Support the planning, coordination, and execution of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for data center projects and other large-scale commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers : Work closely with project managers to ensure the successful completion of mechanical aspects of the projects, from initiation through to final delivery.
  • Oversee Construction Documentation : Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project documents, including RFIs , submittals , change orders , and schedules to ensure accuracy and alignment with project timelines.
  • Support Field Operations : Provide technical support to the field team, ensuring mechanical systems are installed correctly, safely, and to the highest standards.
  • Quality Control & Compliance : Help ensure all mechanical systems and installations meet quality standards and comply with local building codes , safety regulations , and client specifications .
  • Manage Budgets & Schedules : Assist in tracking project budgets, managing costs, and maintaining project schedules to meet deadlines and maintain profitability.
  • Client Interaction : Communicate directly with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise during construction.
  • Problem-Solving : Proactively identify and address challenges in the construction process to keep projects on track and avoid costly delays.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Civil Engineering , or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical HVAC, piping, and plumbing construction for large-scale commercial/industrial projects —experience with data centers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems , construction processes, building codes , and safety regulations .
  • Strong organizational skills , with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills —you will interact with clients, vendors, and field teams daily.
  • Proficient in construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
  • Proactive problem solver with a strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to relocate if necessary (relocation assistance provided).
