Part-Time Weekend HPLC Chemist

Compensation: $28–$35/hour (DOE)

Schedule: 8–16 hours/week (Saturdays and/or Sundays)

Summary

We’re seeking a part-time HPLC chemist to join our weekend lab team. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical chemistry experience who enjoys working independently and with precision. You will be responsible for operating HPLC instruments, preparing samples, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring accurate and timely test results on dietary supplement products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain HPLC systems for weekend test batches
  • Run validated quantitative methods for analytes such as caffeine, vitamins, sugars, amino acids, and botanical actives
  • Perform precise sample preparation: weighing, pipetting, extraction, dilution
  • Troubleshoot HPLC instrument issues, including pressure spikes, retention time shifts, peak distortion, and detector noise
  • Identify and resolve sample preparation challenges, such as solubility problems, incomplete extraction, or interference from matrix components
  • Record and report results with attention to detail and regulatory compliance
  • Follow SOPs and ISO 17025 quality protocols
  • Support method verification or validation efforts when needed
  • Communicate any urgent issues or maintenance needs to the weekday team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on HPLC experience
  • Strong attention to detail in sample prep and data analysis
  • Confident working independently on weekends without supervision
  • Experience in dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical testing preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 or other regulated lab environments is a plus

Compensation
