Pride Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join a team in Brooklyn NY. This is a 13 weeks of contract with a possible extension

Job Title: Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist

Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | One Saturday per month required

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Contract Length: 13 weeks + possible extension

Facility Type: Non-Acute / Post-Acute or Long-Term Care

Pay Rate : $50/hr

Position Summary:

The Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist provides nutrition screening, assessment, education, and follow-up for patients across levels of care. This role involves collaborating with physicians on diet modifications, interpreting lab and clinical data, and monitoring patients for food-drug interactions. The position requires accurate documentation and patient-centered education based on individual dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screen and assess patients’ nutritional status in a timely manner
  • Interview patients and families for dietary history and preferences
  • Identify food/drug interactions and document in patient records
  • Review laboratory, physical, and psychosocial data relevant to nutrition care
  • Provide nutrition education tailored to patient understanding and needs
  • Record diet instructions and patient comprehension in the medical chart
  • Consult with physicians to recommend appropriate diet modifications
  • Adjust patient menus as needed to align with clinical and personal needs

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum: 1 year of clinical nutrition experience
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in acute or post-acute settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with dietary guidelines and patient education

Education & Certifications:

  • Required:
  • New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (NYSED)
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition from an accredited institution

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • AHA BLS Certification
