Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Electrical Estimator to oversee the estimating process for electrical projects. This role involves reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and calculate material, labor, and time costs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical estimating, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team in preparing competitive bids.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents to identify what is needed for a project to create a bid proposal.
2. Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating available documents.
3. Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers.
4. Review quotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy of quotes received.
5. Identify any inconsistent issues, conflicts, and other problems in the bid documents.
6. Anticipate potential problems and devise solutions proactively.
7. Analyze projects for value engineering options while considering specific job conditions that may affect labor and material to be purchased and installed.
8. Prepare bid documents including specific scope letters for each project.
9. Implement and improve estimating strategies and methodologies to enhance accuracy and competitiveness.
10. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with suppliers and clients to gather necessary information for estimates.

Immediate Supervisor: This position reports to the Electrical Division Manager.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or 5+ years of estimating experience.
2. Understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.
3. Familiarity with estimating projects of all sizes and project management principles.
4. Excellent math and IT skills with an analytical mindset.
5. Proficiency in MS Office and multiple estimating programs.
